To all of our devoted friends, families and patrons of the Skyway.

We will not be able to open for business this weekend.

Restaurants and bars like ours require multiple permits and licenses to operate. While we have passed all inspections and meet or exceed all regulations, one of the permits has been held up in Columbus. Unfortunately this state-issued permit is essential to our operation.

The Skyway and our staff are eager to have this issue resolved so we can offer everyone the high quality eating, drinking and entertainment experience you have come to expect from us.

We ask you to regularly check here for information regarding our re-opening.

With every wedding comes the rehearsal dinner. The purpose of the rehearsal dinner is for the relatives and friends of the bride and groom to meet and have a good time. The evening includes many toasts and perhaps a few roasts and even a small gift as a token of thank everyone who has put work into helping with the wedding preparations.

But whether you assisted at the Round House or not, this is still your night to toast to a new season on the island. After your dinner at The Skyway, we would like to thank you with a little token of our appreciation. Another great day on Put-in-Bay. For the last two weeks, we have had more Skyway and Put-in-Bay virgins stop by for drinks and a bite. It sure helps when the weather has cooperated and brings everyone's spirits high.

Last night six guys were returning to Minneapolis from Rhode Island, after helping with severe flooding damage. They parked the semi and flew over to the island and spent the night at The Skyway after a fellow worker had told them about the island. What a great time was had by everyone.

Looking forward to the weekend. Remember that EVERYONE is invited to the Wedding Rehearsal Dinner on Friday night prior to the RHB opening on Saturday.

What a beautiful weekend to start April.

The Skyway re-opened after being closed a whole five days to do an Extreme Bar and Restaurant Make-over in the Dining Room and some spring cleaning. We are now in high gear for the season.

Nick James was busy on the patio with alot of new faces checking out the island. New friend and entertainer, Lenny Kromer stopped by and did an "audition on the patio" yesterday. Lenny played is heart out all afternoon, vieing for some gigs on the Skyway Stage this summer. Watch for Lenny playing soon!

Local Artist, Megan Vaccaro, spent the afternoon adding to her collection of artwork. She painted on canvas while patrons watched over her shoulder. Megan's work is on display in The Skyway and is also available for sale. She is doing some great martini art for us.

Chef Mike Catey, along with Laura Barnum and Andy were busier in the kitchen with a new menu. The aromas wafting from the kitchen made everyone hungry. The Ahi Tuna Sandwich was so good along with the fresh Key West Salad.

Looking forward to today and lots more fun at The Skyway!

This is the first day of our new blog. You may not know, but now you will, that we are at the start of The Skyway Spruce Up Week. We will be closed until Friday, April 2, 2010 and we will be looking for you.

We have been busy working on a schedule of new events, food, drinks that will be be the highlight of your summer at Put-in-Bay. Each day will bring surprises that you will never forget (unless you over-order).

On April 9, you are invited to The Rehearsal Dinner with us. This is in conjuction with the RHB Wedding Party on Saturday. Tell you more about the menu later.

Mark your calendar for Thursday, April 22 -24 for the Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers Draft Party Weekend.
